Doug MacKie
Doug has over 18yrs experience as an organisational and clinical psychologist, working in both in UK and Australia. He worked in a number of senior health service positions both in management and service provision prior to moving into organisational consulting. Recently, he has provided a range of organisational services to leaders and senior managers within several of the FTSE 100 companies in the UK, including leadership development programs, executive coaching, selection of senior managers, identification of high potential employees, career development programs, 360 feedback and identification of organisational competencies. His qualifications in both organisational and clinical psychology have helped to shape his focus on increasing the performance and well being of both the individual and the organisation. He has a particular interest in the effects of positive and negative emotions on job performance and the development of leadership and coaching capabilities in senior executives. Doug has recently been involved in projects to identify and develop the characteristics of high potential senior managers within the financial services, FMCG and Retail, Health and Public sectors. Companies Doug has worked for in the identification and development of leadership and management capabilities include Lloyds Bank, Barclays Bank, Standard Life, Diageo, Mercer and Rio Tinto. As well as being directly involved in executive assessment with the above organisations, Doug has extensive experience in constructing coaching and development planning interventions around the organisation’s capability framework. Local clients in Queensland include companies in both the public and private sectors, in the health, financial, local council and local government areas. He has recently worked effectively for multi-national FMCG’s from 2000 to the present primarily conducting executive assessment, development planning and coaching to senior executives in UK, Ireland, Australia, Thailand, Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong. In addition to providing 1:1 executive coaching, he has helped facilitate numerous high performance coaching program designed to teach senior mangers the key competencies involved in coaching others towards increased performance.
