What is Executive Leadership?
This wider perspective is increasingly important. Contemporary executives are required to deliver organisational performance while navigating technological disruption, stakeholder expectations, social responsibility and the transition required by climate change and biodiversity loss. Executive leadership therefore involves not only achieving results, but considering how those results are achieved and their consequences for people, society and nature.
There is good recent research support for making sustainability integral rather than peripheral to leadership. Systematic reviews now connect leadership with environmental behaviour, green innovation, environmental management and sustainability performance.
The CSA approach to Executive Leadership
Our work combines organisational psychology, leadership research, strength-based development and more than three decades of applied experience. Assessment establishes the capabilities and context of the leader. Coaching supports behavioural change. CEO effectiveness considers the interaction between leader, team and organisational context. Sustainability leadership extends the frame further, asking how leadership contributes to responsible organisational responses to social and ecological challenges.
